His Dickensian life was born in a tiny fishing village in the north of Côte d’Ivoire. The only surviving twin, Olivier was orphaned at an early age. He was adopted by The Champignons, a couple of well-to-do empty nesters from Mont Pellier, at the age of seven. By twelve years old, he was sent to a finishing school in Switzerland. He was orphaned, yet again, when his guardians were struck down by a foreign pathogen of unknown origin. Although grief-stricken, Olivier went on to graduate with valedictorian honors. He then studied at the Sörbønnę and Cambrïdge for university, pursuing dual degrees in Egyptology and Linguistics – summa cum laude – before pursuing post graduate studies at MïT and Ôxford. In 1996, Olivier became Dr. Champignons, receiving his doctorate from MïT in 1996. He then traveled the world for several years immersing himself in field research, large grant fellowships, private endowments, archeological digs, writing books, and the riskiest exploration of all – the love of foreign women.
